Serbia Convention Bureau
Established in 2007, as a department of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, our mission is to develop, market and position Serbia as the leading and fastest-growing meetings and events destination in Southeast Europe. We are a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), as part of its Central European Chapter and Destination Marketing Sector. Our CEO, Mr. Igor Kovacevic, is the Deputy Chair of the Central European Chapter. In the annual ICCA Country and City Rankings, Serbia and its capital city Belgrade are regularly placed among the top 50 meeting destinations in the world.
Serbia Convention Bureau aims to implement Partnership Program together with representatives of meetings industry, which enables formal relations in the process of defining meetings and events offer of Serbia and coordinated approach to the international market. By formalization of partnership relationship, Serbia Convention Bureau wishes to gather convention industry so the following goals could be achieved: Status of the convention industry; Defining the offer; Communication; Education; Improvement of sales; Economy of scale and Positioning.
Through its Partnership Program, Serbia Convention Bureau has created a strong network of meetings industry partners – hotels, conference venues, DMC and PCO agencies and other related service providers. All partners have passed strict qualification criteria in order for Program to guarantee service excellence for international clients and delegates. One of the key criteria is experience in dealing with international and European association congresses, corporate events and corporate incentives. All Partners are implementing international standards and working according to the Serbian applicable laws and regulations.
Association Program and Ambassador Program
The Association Program is an initiative of the Serbia Convention Bureau to develop partnership relations between national associations and the events industry, and to prepare an organized approach to the international convention market. The program is oriented towards Serbia’s associations, societies and institutions capable to attract international conventions and business events that promote Serbian innovation and expertise to the global business and professional community. The core message is ‘Now is the right time to consider hosting an international convention here in Serbia’. As a result, Ambassador Program is a platform that honours those professionals whose dedication and work have decisively contributed to Serbia’s reputation in the field of international meetings.
